France September 2010

Following the success of our Yoga holidays at L’Ancienne Distillerie, near Cognac, Western France in 2006, 2007 & 2009, we are delighted to be making a return visit in 2010. Teacher John Shirbon.

Dates:  One week commencing Saturday 11th September 2010.

Cost:  £555 - book by 28th February and save £25.

Location:  L’Ancienne Distillerie, Deuville, Segonzac (9 miles south east of Cognac) surrounded by farmland and the gentle rolling vineyards of Cognac.  See website: www.lanciennedistillerie.com

Accommodation:  There are 5 twin bedded & 5 double bedded rooms (£70 supplement for single room occupancy) in 4 separate Gites, each with fully fitted kitchens, bathrooms, dining and lounge areas.

Facilities:  Swimming pool, sunbeds, terraces & gardens with seating & BBQ’s. Converted barn forms lovely yoga studio with wooden floor

Yoga Equipment:  There are sufficient Foam Blocks at the venue for us to use, so you will only need to bring your Mat, a belt, a blanket (optional) and anything else you personally need. 

What is included in the cost:

• Accommodation, based on 2 sharing a room  (£70 single room supplement)
• Vegetarian Meals - 7 breakfasts and 4 evening dinners
• Car Hire – 3 or 4 sharing
• Yoga – a morning (2 hour) and an evening (1½ - 2 hours) class each day, What is NOT included in the cost:
• Travel getting to/from France
  -  Train from Kings Cross/St Pancreas International by  Eurostar/TGV, to Angouleme (approx 7 hours in total – this has previously worked very well), then 45 mins drive to L’Ancienne
  
• Travel Insurance – you will need to arrange this, many of you probably have an annual policy.
• All other meals apart from those above.  All Gites have fully fitted kitchens if you wish to self cater and eat in, or there is a good choice of local restaurants – details provided on site.

Hotel & Yoga Space & Equipment:  We will be staying at the Onuncu Koy Hotel which has a lovely Yoga Space and is fully equipped.  Single Supplement £70.

Yoga:  All levels - an opportunity to deepen your understanding of the asanas and how they affect you, both physically and mentally.  There will be a 2-2½ hour class in the morning and a 1½ hour class in the evening, and will include some Pranayama during the week.

Travel:  You will need to book your own flight to Antalya Airport as soon as possible and we will give you more information on the airlines and times.  The journey from Antalya to the venue takes about 1½ hours and our hosts will be arranging mini-bus or taxis at extra cost which will be shared amongst the group.  Car Hire can be arranged locally for those who wish to explore the area independently.  Istanbul is about an hours flight from Antalya, so you may wish to explore the possibility of extending your holiday.

Travel Insurance:  Make sure you have Travel Insurance from when you make your booking and pay the deposit.

Heliotrope holidays is run by two Iyengar Yoga teachers Aidan and Sine Love. Senior and well known UK Iyengar have taught yoga holidays at this lovely venue and it comers highly recommended.
